<p>The name Stutthof translates from German to Sztutowo. It is a small village located 40 kilometers to the east from Gdansk. It was brough with the German invasion of Poland in September of 1939. This was the very first Nazi concentration camp to be established on the Polish territory, as well as the last to be dissolve. In the beginning, the Stutthof camp had less than 300 prisoners, but over time, that number grew to more than 50.000. Most of the prisoners were Polish people from Gdansk and the Pomerania region, but there were also Poles from Warsaw, Bialystok and even fro Baltic States. It is estimated that more than 110.000 people were broght here, and 85.000 died in this concentration camp. Currently it is a memorial place and a museum open for visitors all year long. Tourists can see remains of gas chambers and barracks, where prisoners used to live, as well as the crematory building and memorial stonrd.</p>

<p>Join our unique tour to the Malbork castle, which used to be the seat of the Teutonic State since 1280. This is the place where the Teutonic Knights constructed a fortifieed monastery, which later became known as the Upper Castle. In the 13th century, other parts of the structure were built, which created an enormoud brick fortress picturesquely located on the Nogat river, which is currently one of the most popular tourist attractions in Poland. The world’s largest brick castle is visited by nearly 700.000 tourists each year. The museum is the home to precious collections of artistic amber wares, elements of medieval architecture, ancient weapons and military equipment.</p>



<p>In 1997, UNESCO considered the Malbork castle a World Heritage Site.</p>

<p>The birthplace of the „Solidarnosc” movement, the place where the very first shots of World War II were fired on September 1st 1939, but primarily one of the most stunning cities in northern Europe, the history of which dates back more than 1000 years. Join us for a visit to Gdansk, which used to be the wealthiest city in Poland known as the Hanseatic granary of Europe and the hometown of countless famous people, including astronomer Jan Hevelius, physicist G. D. Fahrenheit, philosopher A. Shopenhauer, German writer and Nobel Prize winner Gunter Grass, and last but not least – Lech Walesa – the historic leader of the „Solidarnosc” movement and former president of Poland. We can offer various options for sightseeing in this marvelous city. If you come to Gdansk on a cruise ship, you will most likely dock in the port of Gdynia (20 kilometers from the center of Gdansk). Depending on how much free time you have, we can offer you 3 different basic versions of the city tour:</p>



<p><strong>1. Highlights of Gdansk</strong></p>



<p>During this tour we will focus on the Old Town of Gdansk. We will walk along its main streets, including Dlugi Targ, Mariacka street and admire the High Gate, the Golden Gate, the Green Gate and the Prison Tower. You will also have a chance to see the symbol of the old port – the Old Crane on the Motlawa river, the Church of st. Mary – the largest brick-made church in Europe and the heart of the Old Town – the fountain of Neptune in front of Artus Court. On our way back to the port in Gdynia we will stop in the Oliwa District and marvel at the Oliwa Park and Cathedral with the famous Organ Loft.</p>

<p><strong>2. Highlights of Gdansk and Sopot</strong></p>



<p>The program of this tour includes all the highlights of option number 1, and additionally the monument to the Shipyard Workers at Solidarnosci Square in Gdansk, as well as a visit in Sopot – a fancy sea resort on the Baltic coast, situated between Gdansk and Gdynia. We will admire the longest wooden pier in Europe and walk along the Bohaterow Monte Cassino street with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and a treasure of modern architecture – the Crooked House.</p>

You will have a chance to see ruineed barracks, xoncrete bunkers and the enormous Monument to the Defenders of Westerplatte.</p>
