Lech Walesa is one of the best known Poles around the world and his life is strongly associated with Gdansk. This former president of Poland (1990 – 1995) and Nobel Peace Prize laureate (1983), co-founded and led Solidarity movement here in Gdansk. During our tour you will visit places related with Lech Walesa’s life and political activity as well as places of great historic importance like: Gdansk Shipyard where famous strikes took place, Monument to Fallen Shipyard Workers, seat of Solidarity free trade union, Lech Walesa’s residence and house, St Brygida’s church (sanctuary of Solidarity movement leaders under martial law) and even one of the pubs where he used to go for a beer when he worked in the shipyard.
We offer private tours on request. We can pick you up from your hotel at chosen time.
